Mark Description

These aren't your children's Lollipops! BBQ Lollipops  make the fanciest family supper for under $10.

Start off by rinsing your drumsticks and patting them dry with paper towels. Then, with a sharp heavy knife, chop both ends of the drumstick off and discard the ends. Make sure you can stand the drumstick up vertical on the fat side. About one inch down on the skinny side, cut all the way around and remove the skin, meat and any ligaments that are remaining. You want the bone to be clean.

For your rub, mix together, kosher salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, a little bit of cumin, oregano, smoked paprika, and a dash of cayenne. Ensure you rub the BBQ Lollipops down good with the rub and be sure to get it under the skin. Wrap the exposed bone with tin foil to ensure the bone doesn't turn black.

Set your grill up for indirect grilling. Grill the BBQ Lollipops vertical sitting on the fat side on the cool side of the grill for about an hour at 350 degrees or until the internal temp reaches 170 (I don't like slimy chicken).

Pour your BBQ Sauce in a bowl. Pick up each of the BBQ Lollipops and roll in in the sauce until all of the meat is covered. Put them back on the grill for about 15 minutes and let the BBQ Sauce caramelize into the meat and skin.

Remove from the grill and take the tin foil off the bone before serving.

If you like the BBQ Lollipops, also try the Bacon Wrapped Buffalo Muffin Chicken Thighs or the Code 3 Drumsticks!!
