These Bacon Wrapped Turkey Balls are easy enough for any day of the week! It takes a meatball sub or spaghetti and meatball dish to a new level. It is also great as an appetizer or snack!
1 lb Ground Turkey
1 small yellow onion finely diced
1/2 red bell pepper finely diced
2 eggs
6 fresh sage leaves roughly chopped
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 Tablespoon of Worcestershire Sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste
3/4 cup Panko Bread Crumbs
1 pack of regular sliced bacon
Mix all of the ingredients, except bacon, in a large bowl. Add more bread crumbs if mixture is too wet. Roll into 1 inch balls. Place 1 ball on either side of a slice of bacon and roll into center. Secure the balls with a toothpick.
Prepare the grill for indirect heat.
Grill the meatballs over indirect heat for 5 minutes. Flip the meatballs and continue to grill for 5 more minutes. Move the balls over direct heat until bacon becomes beautifully golden brown and crisp. Be careful for flare ups and move the balls away from any flame.
Enjoy!.. over pasta, with a dip, on a hoagie, or as is!
This simple recipe can be tweaked to your liking. Add or remove any ingredient to make it your own!
